When Terence accidentally breaks the scepter, Tink becomes furious, causing her to break the moonstone, which is to go into the scepter. But as the work on the scepter progresses, Tinker Bell begins to have trouble with Terence, who is trying too hard to be helpful. Tinker Bell accepts the task, as well as help from Terence. Although Tinker Bell made mistakes in the past, Fairy Mary explains that tinker fairies learn from them most of the time. The Autumn Revelry is the associated event during which the fairies gather to collect the dust.Ī new scepter is to be made to raise the moonstone, and Tinker Bell has been recommended. When the light of this rare blue moon passes through the moonstone, it creates blue pixie dust to strengthen and rejuvenate the Pixie Dust Tree. Every eight years, there is a blue harvest moon in Pixie Hollow. They show her a mystical Moonstone and explain to her its tremendous powers. Tinker Bell is trying to make a "Pixie Express", but it fails just as she is called to meet Queen Clarion, Fairy Mary and Redleaf, the Minister of Autumn. Meanwhile, Tinker Bell and dust-talent fairies like Terence are staying in Pixie Hollow. The textures are amazing (according to the book, its watercolor and pencil). What made me fall in love with this book are Kristina Swarner's illustrations. And Queen Lucy and Skaterboy are also little beach bums. I grew up by the beach so this book set at a beach, with a child doing what I did at the beach, makes me happy. I also liked how the numbers matched the object depicted (tho I think that the 5/ five fingers of a starfish could be confusing to young children) and that when the castle is made, it does contain the correct number of objects found. (Hey, maybe I should have saved this for Friday!) The Good: This is the author's first book and she is poetry champion.

It begins, "one white wishing stone, smooth and round and cool" "two periwinkle shells in a tidal pool." After ten, "I make a castle in the sand / with walls and steps and towers / and trim it with the things I've found / and make believe for hours."
